My early passion for plumbing

From a young age I was drawn to fixing things and understanding how they worked. I was constantly rebuilding cubby houses, go-carts, push bikes and other things kids used to do. My earliest plumbing-related memory was playing with marbles one day where I used PVC pipe fittings and pullies so the marble could have a rollercoaster from the top bunk to the bottom one. Intricate systems and problem-solving challenges such as this completely captivated my interest early on in life.

As a teenager I used to catch a train to Sydney from my home town in Newcastle to help my Dad paint high-end properties in the Eastern Suburbs. He was a true master at his craft and working alongside him helped me develop an eye for detail which serves me to this day. As a teenager I also worked part-time in a busy kitchen which taught me so much about customer service and not being afraid of good old fashioned hard work.

Formal training, certification and licensing

At 17 I enrolled in a Plumbing and Gasfitting Apprenticeship at TAFE. This formal education equipped me with a solid foundation in plumbing principles, safety and regulations. Working alongside seasoned professionals, I learned the ropes of the trade and honed my skills in real-world scenarios. After 6+ years formal training, I'm proud to be a fully licensed plumber and gasfitter.

Over the years I've added numerous other endorsements to my plumbing contractors license. I have completed a QBCC approved course in 'Evaluating and Planning the Installation of Solar and Heat Pump Systems'. This enables me to install solar hot water and heat pump systems, ensuring that I adhere to industry standards and regulations. I also have a Certificate II in Split Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems from Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC). This permits me to install wall hung, cassette, and ducted split system air-conditioning units.

The experience I bring to you

With 20 years in the plumbing industry, I've encountered a wide array of plumbing challenges. From dripping taps to complex system installations, I've seen and solved it all.

Over the years I've specialised in many aspects of plumbing. During my apprenticeship I worked primarily doing maintenance plumbing across East Sydney and Newcastle. After this I worked for companies specialising in commercial plumbing, hot water system installations and blocked drains.

After moving to Cairns, I spent 2 years doing commercial plumbing on the same semi high-rise building for almost two years. This was satisfying to be a part of and amazing to see the construction process from start to finish. In 2012 I moved to Brisbane where I have spent a great deal of the past 12 years doing 24 hour emergency maintenance plumbing.
